ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
The White Mountain Coalition Against Homelessness (WMCAH) was formed in 2015 to serve the homeless population of Northeastern Arizona with a hand up, rather than a handout.
The Coalition’s Transitional Housing offers a 180-day, clean and sober working temporary housing program. This program helps those suffering from homelessness by providing help with shelter, food and the tools to be self-sufficient.
The Coalition has adopted a program utilized by The Salvation Army, which requires that the resident live sober while in the program, diligently seek work and, when the resident finds work, save half of their income which is returned in full upon exiting the program to cover the expense of moving into their own housing. We have been successful in helping people because we ask them to invest in themselves.
Homelessness affects everyone in a community. Our mission is to help people lift themselves up and out of homelessness, and into a productive, brighter future. But we can’t do it without the help of the community. We humbly ask for your financial support and encourage you to speak with us or attend one of our public meetings to learn more about how we’re making a difference in the lives of those in need.
In September 2020, WMCAH purchased property at 2791 E Adams St. in Show Low, AZ with the purpose of building a small community of houses for our homeless clients. In January 2023, The Victory Village Project was officially started, and we were approved to Do Business As White Mountain Victory Village.
